first aid kit

at the Workmans Club on Saturday with Josef. Amazing!
With opening act Samantha Crain.

Of course we had to take the opportunity to take a picture!

After a drink at the Lotts we met up with Rithya, Assan and Emma amongs others at Morgans. It pretty much sucked so queued for 20 minutes at Lost Society before they told us it was full. Went to Pygmalion next door instead and had a great time with nice people, documentary filming (I got the amazing plan to make a movie about Dublin life, I think it died out Sunday morning...) and weird Long Island Ice Teas.

Tomorrow Oskar will move in with me before going back to Sweden in a month. Will be crowded again but anything to spend more time with family. And cheaper rent. Win win.

did i hear friday?

Oh yes I did! Slowest Friday ever tho, AW has never felt this far away. Here are some amazing pics from my day so far.

Sun and rainbow view from the office this morning, it looked prettier live... Two minutes later it was pouring down but I think the sun is winning now.

Friday heart attack cookie. Shared it with Monique so will hopefully survive.

And then I just wanted to show you this panda I made in Excel a few months back. Someone made a heart in a shared file so I obviously had to show off my skills.

wine wednesday is back

Got a a new training program at the gym so can barely walk now, my legs feel like two big bruises. Almost fell down the stairs yesterday when my knees bent under me. Weak? Eh, well they shouldn't be allowed to have stairs at the gym, dangerous. Took a day off today and went in to city center after work.

I went to Boots to get shampoo and came out with a bag full of things I didn't know I needed. Both love and hate (mostly love) Boots for always having 'Buy one get one free' or '3 for 2'. More dangerous than stairs at the gym. Got half of it for free though :)

After that I went for some wine and tapas with Ruth and her new colleague Valerie at the Port House. Hadn't seen Ruth since last Saturday, have been suffering seriously from Ruth withdrawal.

The toilet throne at Port House.

Kiwi and mango dessert at home, mm... Isn't kiwi a pretty fruit? (Ugly on the outside tho, but we all know that doesn't count.)

Almost weekend again, yay! On Saturday Josef and I are gonna see First Aid Kit at the Workmans Club, have been waiting for that a loooong time.

saturday evening

Started with caipirinhas at Larissa's place.

Lam and Julian.

Rasmus and Michael.

Then off to Mexican house party. Olle, Larissa and Josef.

Josef and Assan.

Rasmus, Olle, Josef, Kim and Ester.

Not even everyone...

Great party! We were only supposed to be there a couple of hours and then the party would continue somewhere else but guess it's not that easy to move that many people... Felt as I was there only an hour or two but apparently it was almost five when I left. So Sunday wasn't a very productive day, made pancakes and watched films all day, nice! Was productive enough on Saturday for a month anyway.

Oh, off now!

mum, music and markets

So, on Thursday mum came to Dublin and we met up in the city after work for coffee and cake at Queen of Tarts.

Mum had an apple crumble pie...

...and I had a carrot cake, yummy!

Went over to Oskar's place for some wine and snacks before going to Bella Roma for dinner.

I asked for pasta and got risotto but it didn't matter 'cause it was sooo good!

After dinner we headed to Temple Bar bar for some Irish music.

Mum and I. Obv.

On Friday we had a glass of wine at the Church then back to my place to admire my newly painted blue chairs! You do feel a bit spoiled when your mum comes over for vacation and paint your chairs when you're at work. Thanks, mum!

Dinner at the Green Hen and later Irish music and dancing at Oliver St John Gogarty's where a guy asked me and my brother if we were from California, haha, random guess...

Woke up early and not hungover on Saturday so went for some adventures in Dublin. Found a book for 4 euro at the Temple Bar book market and a second hand skirt for 5 euro at the market at Grand Social. New books here are really expensive and the skirt was from Urban Outfitters from the beginning, love making bargains!

Checked out the Temple Bar food market on my way home, everything looks so good there but only left with a freshly squeezed apple/carrot/ginger juice that made me feel super healthy.

When I got home I made a pennant for my empty wall...

...and painted my table white.

In the evening we had caipirinhas at Larissa's place before going to a house party in the city. Great night but more about that later!

celebrate good times

Celebrated Olle's birthday a week late last weekend, here we go.

Started with bowling in Stillorgan. Were supposed to play LaserDome but someone had booked us for the wrong weekend so got cheaper bowling instead.

Chose the budget version and pre-partied on leftover vodka with Ruth while the others had dinner at the Counter.

Slippers or heels? Hmm.

When we were out of drinks we met up with the others at Lost Society.

Great day and evening! Mum's here now so tonight there'll be Guinness and Irish music, that's not to bad either!

friday night

Got invited to taco dinner at Josef and Olle's place today, second this week, can't complain! As we're celebrating Olle tomorrow we took it easy tonight and went to the cinema after way too much food. Saw Chronicle, which I've been waiting for since I saw the trailer for the first time. Think I had a bit too high expectations but it was good and it actually gets better the more I think about it.

Right now I'm looking for nice pictures from old magazines, need something on my walls! When I lived here before I had a whole wall full with black and white pictures of guys, hehe. I miss it, wish I hadn't thrown away all the pics when I moved. It was a pain getting all the blue tack off the walls when I took them down though so might have to come up with another plan...

I might not have the best view in Dublin but one part I like about it is the neon sign outside my window, it makes me feel like I live in downtown New York. Ah, wishful thinking.

As I said we're celebrating Olle tomorrow as he turned like... old last weekend. Starting with LaserDome in the day and ending with Lost Society at night, will be fun, fun, fun!

malta

So, Josef and I packed our bags and fled to Malta for the weekend. Here's the result:

Friday
Dinner at Hugo's - Josef, Christian and Kalle.

Hugo's might have the best fortune cookies ever, I got "Your calculations are going to be prosperous".

After dinner and a number of mojitos we went to Nordic Plus to listen to see Kalle play.

Lasse tried to smuggle a beer, kinda unnecessary as no one cares in Paceville and you can bring your drinks from one bar to another.

Kalle playing, awesome!

Olle sad after Dani downed a beer faster than him. Ha!

Josef, Frida and Chrille at Nordic. Guess who's living on Malta?

Frida, Dani and BananaRama at Native.

My fave Poles, Slav and Jarek.

Saturday
It was sunny and we were supposed to rent a car but after realising there's not much to see on Malta we decided Happy Hour at Hugo's was a better plan.

Happy Hour!

When Happy Hour ended we continued the party at home with Olle's magnets, never have I ever and a lot of laughter. Went out after that and managed to take 0 pictures, for the rest of the weekend, disappointed in myself!

Sunday

Took a walk with Olle and Josef to St Julian's and took the opportunity to buy some Swedish candy at Candynavia and say hi to Jenny who was working. Went for nachos at Amigos and then Native for some football and after that everything went downhill. Thought I was just really hungover first but it turned out to be stomach flu and I had to stay in the last night, gah! On Monday everyone was kinda exhausted and we didn't do much and then it was time to go. But still, a great weekend, wanna go back now, now, now!

Until next time, Malta!
