tuesday, wednesday, thursday

I've learned how to make gif animations, go me! It's actually easy. Not as easy as uploading the pictures one by one on the blog of course, but I need something to do with all my time. More important stuff like laundry and washing dishes is not included. So here's my first ever gif, a summary of Tuesday night:

I thought spring had arrived yesterday, I never learn that January is nowhere near spring time. When I went out around lunch the sun was shining and my thin jacket almost felt too warm. Three hours later I regretted my choice of clothes when the temperature suddenly  dropped and the sky opened itself as I was on my way too Michael's place. Not happy. But homemade falafel made me in a better mood, love having chef friends!

After work today I took a walk in Phoenix Park with Ruth and it was freezing! Yesterday's heat wave felt like ages ago when I put on double leggings and three sweaters before heading out. Well, as long as it doesn't start snowing I'm happy.

This weekend will be quiet, got a lot of catching up at Cineworld to do... I get a bit stressed if I don't manage to see all the films I want at the cinema. First world problem? I think that will classify as one, yes.

weekend and weekend again

Finally got to see Lorraine on Friday! Hadn't seen her since I moved away from Ireland and that was way too long ago. But now she's back and it was just like old times. Ruth came over after work to help me clean but we ended up drinking wine instead (who wouldn't chose wine before cleaning?) and then Lorraine came and we drank some more. Later Shane dropped by too and we were supposed to go out but that never happened. Instead I fell asleep in my armchair when L&S were buying food (not dinner, this was like 3 in the morning!) and was woken up by my neighbor. Ehh, a bit weird but he said he'd met L&S and my door was open so he had to check on me, haha. Will have to remember to always lock my door not to end up with a heart attack in the future.

Took zero pictures on Friday but here's an old one (like Christmas party 2009?) of me and Lorraine.

Ah, so young and innocent...

On Saturday we made a tradition of the Counter (three times in a row is a tradition!) and I think I've perfected my 'build-your-own-burger'-burger now. Might try it in a bowl next time tho as I never eat the bread anyway. Who wanna get full on bread when there are so many other yummy things? Garlic bread not included.

After that I saw Puss in boots at the cinema. I love animated films but this one was pretty bad, plus I had annoying kids all around me. Went home and watched Midnight in Paris and Blue Valentine instead, much better!

On Sunday I went for a power walk with miss Ruthless and later in the evening we met up with Pedro and Samuel for Drag show bingo! Always wanted to go to that, it's on every Sunday, but just never got around to it. It was really fun and much more show than I thought I'd be, will probably go there this weekend as well.

But that's a few days away. Tonight the people that are left at HP (where I worked before) is having a leaving party at Dicey's where it's 2-euro Tuesday, dangerous! With that in mind I've taken tomorrow off as I'm way too responsible (old) to be hungover at work. Feels like Friday, and you know I like that!

this week

Wow, so much stuff has happened this week. Just look at this.
  • Tried a new yogurt for breakfast. It was nice.
  • Did that test at the gym. Went better than I thought, maybe not such a surprise when I came there with the expectation of my metabolic age being "dead".
  • Found out Parmesan cheese is not vegetarian, it made me sad. It's a cheese! How hard can it be to not put dead animal stuff in it? Huh!?
  • Had a cappuccino yesterday with old Malta friends. Well, one old, one new.
  • Ordered my certificate from school so I can apply to another school. Maybe...
  • Got a paper cut on my tongue. How come, in 2012, you still have to lick the envelopes?
  • Laughed at this:
  • Made this nice pic in Paint:

Such an exciting week!

perfect weekend

Had a perfect weekend, one of those that makes me wonder why I'd ever leave?

Pre-party at my place on Friday. Right amount of people, right people and also invited my neighbors that I met outside my door, never seen them before. They were really nice and said I can come by their place whenever I like. If they have a TV I'll be there all the time, hehe. After that we went to Krystal and it felt like I was there for five minutes but I think it was about 3 hours... Fun anyway!

Thomas and I.

Josef and Olle.

Woke up on Saturday by a text from a Ruth with hamburger cravings so we went to the Counter.

Veggie burger with extra avocado and sweet potato fries, top notch hangover food!

Went to the cinema and while waiting for it to start we decided we were worth a milkshake at Eddie Rockets. Best milkshakes, and biggest! Saw The Darkest Hour 3D (best movie 2012! Eh no.) and Mission Impossible 3 (saw it on Thursday with J&O but was half asleep so didn't mind seeing it again, pretty good).

On Sunday I spent about five hours in bed watching the whole first season of Misfits, couldn't stop watching! Love British series, they're so much more dirty than American.

Around 3pm I felt it was time to do something so went for a walk in Phoenix Park. Just when I got there I got a text from Ruth and walked over to her place instead, ended up being a pretty long walk anyway. Ruth, Tea and I bought Chinese food and watched Remember Me, before I walked home again and watched some more Misfits.

Today after work I'm doing a muscle test at my gym, uhh. Asked for a "fat test" but they just laughed at me, but what if you don't have any muscles?? I'm a bit scared.

friday, friday, friday!

I'm in a good mood, the sun is shining, and it's Friday, best day of the week! Only 40 minutes left at work, then gym, cleaning the apartment and partey at my place, hence the cleaning. Might be a bad idea to clean first though... Lorraine is coming next week instead, which means I can go out tonight and take it easy tomorrow, which is for the best 'cause I hate being dead on Sundays.

Last week Josef and I booked flights to Malta, yay! 1/3 of my new year's resolution soon to be fulfilled. We're leaving early on Friday the 3rd of February, and are coming back late on Monday the 6th. Gonna be so much fun to see everyone again and hopefully get a bit more sun and warmer weather than here.

Almost the view from the Seafront apartment.

Have a nice weekend! (Oh, I'm so cheery today!)

visit weekend

My old roomies Magnus and Micke was visiting last weekend and here's the result:

Started with a classic karaoke night and pitchers at Woolshed. As usual we spent the whole night thinking about what we'd sing until it was too late. Probably for the better.

Sometimes I miss our dirty, old apartment on Capel Street, aka 'The Cabin'.

On Saturday we took the Dart to Killiney for some celebrity spotting and mountain climbing. Ok, walking up the hill. From the train Josef saw something in the water but seals are not uncommon here so didn't think it was anything exciting. Then a guy said "Dolphins, there are three of them". Josef asked if it was common but the guy only laughed and said "Haha, no. Those are some messed up dolphins". Micke thought they were boring but we went down to the beach to get a better look at them anyway, coooool!

Was hard to get a good picture but there's a film on facebook that's better.

Brasserie pause on the way up.

On Killiney Hill, but why so serious, Josef?

After that adventure we deserved a "build-your-own-burger"-buger at The Counter. Yummy!

Josef went out but Magnus, Micke and I took it easy and walked around Dublin to try to find some Irish music. It's harder than you think but eventually we found it at O'Donoghues.

Half week done now and on Saturday I have a date with Lorraine that I haven't seen since I moved away from here. Yay!

holiday pics. loads.

24th
Mostly consisting of food, food and more food. And of course some traditional TV watching, visit from Santa, presents and family time.

'Rice porridge' for breakfast, must be eaten on Christmas morning.

Just a part of all the food. And since I celebrated with my mum during the day and with my dad in the evening I had to eat everything twice. Yes, I had to.

25th
More family with visit by cousins from Gävle and later Christmas Day party at Jens' place.

Anton and Lars.

Gustav, Lars and Jens.

Emil and KP.

26th

Adorable bonus nephew Theo.

AB, Anki and Ebba.

Ebba, Jennie and dad. More Christmas food, phew.

27th
Photo exhibition in Stockholm with dad and Anki, where I ate the most expensive sandwich ever. Later more family when visiting newest member of the clan, Ninja.

28th
Grandma invited us for waffles at the summer house outside Uppsala.

Wednesday party at Anton's.

29th
Cinema with Ida, took the opportunity to see a Swedish film, Simon och ekarna.

Went for a coffee before the cinema, but I had a "hallonsoda" (raspberry soda) instead. Felt like a kid.

30th
Mum's car broke down and a tow truck had to come pick up us up.

After that exciting day I deserved a Guinness with Pixie and Niklas.

31st
New Year's Eve was celebrated somewhere in the countryside with Josefin and these lovely people:

Josefin is going to Australia soon so had to hug her a lot.

2nd
On the 1st I visited my grandma in Motala and on the last day in Sweden there was a small Dublin reunion with Malin, Johanna, Didde and Jorre of course!

Phew, that was pretty much the whole Sweden vacation, great as always!

sweden and back

Back in Dublin, back at work.

Had two great weeks in Sweden and got to see almost everyone I wanted to see. Ate way too much Christmas food, visited family, drank beer with old friends, road tripped with Therese to Norrköping, visited Josefin in Mantorp, celebrated the new year at a cosy hostel in the country side and went to Linköping with Malin, Jorre, Johanna and Didde. Pics will be here soon, as usual.

Nice to be home in my own apartment now but would feel better if it wasn't so frikking cold! Always think January means spring and get depressed when I realise it's just the beginning of winter. Ah well, have plans to visit Malta in February, tomorrow my old roomies Mike and Magnus are coming (just in time for payday!) and next weekend I'll finally get to see Lorraine who's home from the land down under, things could be worse.

Mike the Bike and Magnus (and Johan) on the last (and first?) Whiskey on a Sunday-Sunday on our old "roof".

By the way, decided to make some New Year's resolutions this year. Fun stuff, nothing like "loose 10 kg", it doesn't work anyway. My first one is to visit three countries (Sweden not included), give me more suggestions!
