i love irish summer

...it's my favorite day of the year, as they say on facebook. But we've actually had four days in a row now with clear blue skies and 18 degrees (=Irish summer). Picture proof from Sunday, when it was around 21 degrees and Olle, Larissa, Josef and I rented bikes in Phoenix Park.

Awesome day! Didn't wanna come at all first, was tired and didn't feel like going out but Josef convinced me and I'm glad he did. Rented bikes for €7 for two hours and biked around the park, it's huge! At the end (outside) of the park we found a Londis and bought some lunch that we enjoyed in the sunshine and Olle got to show off his wheeling skills. After that we met up with Tess and Ruth at the cinema and saw The Hunger Games, it was ok, was expecting more I guess.

Soon, lunch in the sun at Junior's, later, Milan vs Barcelona at some pub. Happy Wednesday!

visit weekend

Visits from both Ruth's friend Tess and my friend Pixie and her friend Lina this weekend. Had only time to see Pix for a short while when we all went to the Counter on Friday, but it was as lovely as ever :) Tess was (is) a lovely girl too and I think we charmed her into coming back soon, to be continued...

After the Counter we went back to my place for some drinks before going out.

Party People.

Esther and Rithya at Lost Society for Eric's leaving party.

Have no idea what kind of pose I'm trying out here but at least the rest looks happy!

On Saturday the sun was shining so Ruth, Tess and I went to Fitzsimons roof terrace for some thirst quenchers.

GBK for a brunner (breakfast, lunch and dinner in one).

Hard Rock Café for some more drinks. Ruth poured most of her on the table though.

More party at Ruth's place.

When the other's went to Lost Society I headed for the Mezz to meet my brother. He wasn't there at first so I found David instead but then he and Erik came and we had a drink and went home. Loooong Saturday, but nice!

That's it, I think sunny Sunday will get it's own post, just because it was so good.

here comes the sun

Dame Street at 7 in the morning, nice start to a Friday.

No leaves yet, I want spring and green now. NOW!

The lovely weather disappeared after an hour tough, not surprised but disappointed. I wanted to go to the beer boat and drink beer after work! At least there is the Counter and Lost Society on the schedule for tonight. And after all, it's Friday.

right now

Love phone queues. Especially when I'm waiting for the Revenue Office, they are always so nice and explain everything you need to know in some lovely Irish accent. I always feel pleased and happy after talking to them.

Update.
Ok that was supposed to be a sarcastic post but, damn she was nice! I actually feel pleased and happy now. <3 Revenue Office.

paddy's day

So, Paddy's Day.

Met up Josef and Olle at 10am for some breakfast shopping at Tesco. I'm not sure but I think you weren't allowed to buy alcohol...

Mega yummy breakfast, complete with beer, vodka and cava.

Then the painting began. First, innocent things such as shamrocks.

Later (like 10 minutes), we forgot how old we were and the shamrock penis was invented.

I was a bit worried here, not knowing what was painted in my face. But it was all OK.

Awesome, home made t-shirts and green, green, green!

Just because it's impossible not to draw mustaches when you're in possession of a marker (and after a couple of beers).

After a longer breakfast than planned we headed to city center and ended up in some random pubs. Watched a bit of rugby, drank more pints and completely forgot to eat so at 10pm it was time for me to go home. Great Paddy's Day tho, probably number 2 on my "Best Paddy's Day Ever"-list I just invented.

friday, sunday, food

Paddy's Day deserves it's own post, so here's Friday and Sunday.

Skipped gym and went for tacos at Boojum with Josef instead. Only tried the burritos there before and if they are messy I can't even describe the tacos. But they were awesome, can't go wrong with Mexican food! Cinema after that, saw 21 Jump Street and Contraband. The first one was really funny, the other one was OK. Good, quiet start to Paddy's weekend.

On Sunday, day after Paddy's, Larissa, Olle, Josef, Jacob, Julian and I took a walk in the sunshine to Rathmines for what is supposed to be the world's best pizza (two of their pizza's have been awarded the world's best). However, as you see from the pictures they were closed and we settled for Jo's Burgers instead and I didn't hear anyone complaining!

If any complaints, it was about how to eat them...

Took a walk back to the city with a Starbucks stop on the way.

And some magic tricks on Grafton Street.

Jacob and Josef tourist posing on Ha'Penny Bridge.

It was sunny but pretty cold so headed for the cinema but when I realized I had my Cineworld card at home I gave that up and went home for some movies in bed instead. Nice to have done something on a Sunday though, been way too lazy the last weekends.

addicted

Lorraine said I had to get Twitter and Pinterest and I did, because I listen to her. Shouldn't have. Both of them are completely addictive and what little life I had before is now gone in the black hole that is cyberspace. Not a huge fan of Twitter yet, and my only posts are a conversation with miss Purcy herself but that doesn't mean I can stop myself from checking other peoples updates (or 'tweets' or whatever the cool people are calling it). Apparently it's on Twitter you hear it first and of course I don't wanna miss out on anything. Pinterest on the other hand had me at hello, and I'm starting to think in "boards". You'll know what I mean if you sign up, but maybe you shouldn't...

saturday

Woke up 7.30 on Saturday, not tired at all. Love waking  up early on a weekend but the question is, what to do when everyone else won't be awake for a couple of hours? Was seriously considering going to the gym but remembered I had my gym clothes at work so chose to watch movies on the couch instead. Around 1 people were finally waking up and I met up with Ruth for a chilly walk in Phoenix Park. I have no idea what happened to the spring in Dublin, this morning it was below zero when I walked to work! It doesn't bode well for Paddy's Day on Saturday, but as long as the rain stays far away I'm happy.

After the walk we met up with Josef and went to Mac Turcaills for some pints, fish & chips and rugby that we didn't watch. Very Irish of us. Except the Irish actually watch the rugby. Later we had some drinks at Josef's place and Ruth discovered some interesting features on my camera. Oh how pretty we are.

Still later, Lost Society where we met up with Assan, Rithya and other random, nice people.

And that's that.

This weekend - St Paddy's of course. Champagne breakfast, pub crawl and as much green as possible is on the schedule. Whoopdidoop!
